A Message from IABC Southwestern Ontario President
Hello everyone,
Today marked an exciting step forward for our community; we officially came together as IABC Southwestern Ontario. This isn’t just a name change. It’s a bigger, stronger, more connected chapter that brings together members from across the region - from Guelph to Niagara, Hamilton to Windsor, and everywhere in between.
We’re now a community of 100+ communicators, with more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together.
What we heard from you
As we built this new chapter, we asked for your input and you delivered. Here’s what came through loud and clear:
• You value local, in-person connection
• You want more high-quality professional development
• You’re looking for practical, senior-level, relevant content
• You expect more value—not just a larger geography
• And you want us to lean into strategy and AI
You want a stronger regional chapter, without losing the local connection that makes this community special. That balance is exactly what we’re building.
We’re building this together
As we look ahead, one thing is clear, this chapter will only be as strong as the people who shape it. That’s why we’re actively recruiting for our 2026/27 Board, including:
• Vice President
• VP, Finance
• Director, Professional Development
If you’re looking to:
• Grow your leadership experience
• Expand your network
Help shape the future of communications in our region, we’d love to have you join us.
This past year was about trust, patience, and building something new together. Now we get to see what it can become.
I’m genuinely excited about what comes next, and even more excited to build it with all of you. If you’re interested in getting involved, or just want to learn more, reach out anytime or visit www.iabcswo.com.
Thanks for being part of this next chapter.
Patricia Wilkinson-Bizjak
