Help Shape What’s Next: Join the IABC Southwestern Ontario Board
There’s something special happening in Southwestern Ontario—and it’s just getting started.
As we come together as a newly formed IABC Southwestern Ontario chapter, we’re standing at a pivotal moment. This isn’t just a continuation of what’s come before—it’s an opportunity to build something new, meaningful, and impactful for communications professionals across our region.
And we’re looking for passionate people to help shape that future.
Why join the Board?
Serving on the IABC SWO Board of Directors is more than a volunteer role—it’s a chance to grow, connect, and make a difference in the communications community.
Whether you’re looking to expand your leadership experience, build your professional network, or give back to a profession that has given you so much—this is a space where you can do all of that, and more.
Even better? These are hands-on roles. You won’t just contribute ideas—you’ll see them come to life.

We’re currently recruiting for several key roles:

Director, Social Media - Manages SWOs social presence and engagement through dynamic social media content.
Vice President, Finance - Oversees financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure strong fiscal health. Supports informed decision making by maintaining transparency and financial discipline.
Director, Web and Digital - Responsible for maintaining SWOs digital platforms including chapters website.
Director, Graphics and Multimedia - Supports all portfolios by creating visual assest that enhance communication and engagement.
Executive Administrator - Provides operational support to ensure efficient board functioning. This includes coordination of board meetings, recording and distributing minutes and supporting coordination across board portfolios.
Student Liaison - Connects SWO with post-secondary institutions. Supports student engagement and event participation.
Community Liaison - Support engagement at the local or regial level. Represent SWO within their local community and supports local events or meet-ups where applicable.
Each role plays an important part in shaping the direction, experience, and impact of our chapter. Now, as we evolve into a regional chapter, the opportunity ahead is even bigger.
Be part of building something special
We’re planning to finalize recruitment over the next couple of months, and we’d love to connect with anyone who’s even a little bit curious. If you’re interested in getting involved - or just want to learn more - reach out through this form. There’s no pressure, just an open conversation about how you might contribute.
Because the best communities aren’t built by chance - they’re built by people who show up, lean in, and help shape what comes next.
Let’s build something great together!
